| | IL-114 Avionics The aircraft is equipped with a modern digital navigation complex, which includes: programmable automatic flight control system; VOR and DME flight systems; take-off and landing in adverse weather conditions with assisted landing that conforms to ICAO Category II; system of measurements and indication of the flight data; warning devices of dangerous flight mode; system of measurements and indication of the aircraft location; navigation devices. Status of each system’s functioning is displayed on the separate indicators. The onboard equipment is designed for autonomous operation. The electronic integrated system of flight management includes five color displays, which are Navigation Display, Primary Flight Display, Warning Display and System Multifunction Display. These displays are located on the instrument panel of the pilots. This system provides not only with the management, control and tracking, but also it provides with the diagnosis and prevention of malfunctioning of all systems of the aircraft including engines, electric supply systems, air conditioning, antifreeze system, air pressure in the cabins, mechanisms of landing, positioning of the landing gear, doors, passes and hatches, and other systems. In case of irregular events, the necessary instructions and counter-measures are displayed on the screens. IL-114TSuccessful cooperation between the Ilyushin Aviation Complex and Tchkalov Aircraft Production Facility of Tashkent taking its origin in the 1950-es has given birth to a large fleet of passenger and cargo "Il" aircraft of various models. The latest among them is the Il-114T cargo aircraft based on the Il-114 passenger aircraft operated on the local airlines. This aircraft is designed for shot-range cargo operations and can use small poorly equipped paved and unpaved airfields that will allow it to win new markets in different regions. The modern quick-removable floor cargo handling devices and the large cargo door ensure quick and effective cargo loading/unloading and safe transportation of containerized (eight containers), palletized or bulky cargo. The cargo attendant compartment located in the forward section of the fuselage and separated from the cargo cabin by means of a smoke protection curtain has two passenger seats and a lavatory. If the number of attendants is increased the curtain will be moved backwards. Such cargo cabin configuration will accommodate six standard containers. Two turboprop TB7-117C engines with power of 2500 h.p. and quite six-blade propellers provide high fuel efficiency of the aircraft and low perceivable noise levels. New modified engines of 2800 h.p. will be installed beginning from 1997. When designing the Il-114T much attention was paid to providing high level of flight safety. For this purpose the elevator control mechanical linkage was replaced with the fly-by-wire with a backup cable control system. The engine nacelle structure was considerably simplified. Two-man flight crew. The digital flight navigation system the ensures aircraft reliable operation in any weather conditions, takeoff and landing of ICAO category II. The Il-114T's good lift-to drag ratio combined with low fuel consumption and modern aircraft equipment offer high operating economy. Maintenance and overhaul programs for the aircraft, its systems and equipment should be performed "on condition"; airframe service life is 30,000 landings.
