Concept IL-76 aircraft
and its numerous modifications are developed by Ilyushin's Aviation Complex and
since 1973 have been serially manufactured by Tashkent Aircraft Production
Corporation in its civil and military-transport variants.
The aircraft features high-located wings with powerful mechanization, hermetically
sealed fuselage and T-type tail unit. Also, there is a cargo-hatch with the ramp
in the tail part of the fuselage.
The aircraft is equipped with the multiple-wheel landing gear with increased
passable ness, which in combination with powerful mechanization of the wing
allows operating the aircraft in unpaved airdromes with limited takeoff and
landing runways. The existence of possibility to operate in autonomous conditions is the main feature that distinguishes IL-76
from others. Auxiliary power unit installed in the aircraft provides with the opportunity to autonomously operate the aircraft's
systems on the ground.
On the base of serial production of IL-76, there were created numerous modifications with the applications in
various spheres of civil and military-cargo purposes, like:

АПО им. В.П.Чкалова. Построено свыше 850
экземпляров, 120 из которых поставлено на
экспорт. Основные модификации: Ил-76М и Ил-76МД
(военно-транспортные самолеты); Ил-76Т и
Ил-76ТД (грузовые самолеты для
гражданских заказчиков); Ил-76МДПС (поисково-спасательный
с десантируемым катером); Ил-76П (противопожарный);
Ил-76МФ (транспортный грузоподъемностью
52 т, с четырьмя двигателями ПС-90А-76 тягой
по 14000 кгс и удлиненным фюзеляжем, облет
выполнен 1 августа 1995 г.) и др. |
The II-76 is a medium transport |et
featuring a lifting capacity of 40-47 tonnes and powered by four D-30KP
12,000-kgf turbofans. The prototype's maiden flight was made on 25 March,
1971. Since 1973, it has been in series production at the Tashkent-based
plant (TAPOiCh) Over 850 aircraft have been built, of which 120 were
exported. The primary versions are the II-76M and II-76MD military
transports; II-76T and II-76TD civilian transports; IIL-76MDPS SAP
aircraft equipped with a airdroppable rescue boat; II-76P firefighter;
Il-76MF transport fitted with four PS-90A-76 14,000-kgf engines, stretched
fuselage and featuring a lifting capacity of 52 tonnes, its maiden flight
was made on 1 August, 1995; etc. |
